Review: (#1) Using a setting as a backdrop makes it important that the foreground image looks as if it’s set there or at least doesn’t use lighting to suggest it is, but then ultimately feel tacked-on. (#2) A little better than the prior design with more of the figures from the film included, but the jaws look inauthentic and that pairs poorly with the background setting’s contrast to the foreground.

(#3) It’s more action oriented than the prior designs, but is no more compelling than those. It’s a dull and surprisingly lifeless effort.

Trailer Rating: B-

Review: Killer animal films have been all the rage for decades. The trailer makes the film feel somewhat like a cross between The Ghost and the Darkness and Cujo. While there are enough inventive inflections on the theme to potentially make it interesting, it also feels a bit too overdone.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
