It’s not the story of her life, but may be the next best thing.

My Week in Marilyn

Plot Summary: Focusing on the brief tryst between Marilyn Monroe and a young assistant, the film shows us a side to Monroe we’ve very rarely seen.
Release Date: November 23, 2011

Poster

Trailer

Rating: B-
Commentary: This is how you do minimalist with success. With a classic pose of an actress whose resemblance of Monroe is startling, the poster has a certainly sultry classicism one doesn’t seen in posters these days.
Rating: B
Commentary: The trailer has a traditional construction, but when Michelle Williams is on screen as Marilyn, you can’t pry your eyes from her. The film seems a bit common, but it should be worth seeing solely for Williams’ performance.

Oscar Chances: Michelle Williams is destined for an Oscar nomination and I might even hazard a prediction that she could win. The film doesn’t have a lot of supporters among critics, though Kenneth Branagh could also earn a Supporting Actor nomination and the film is sure to be talked about for Art Direction, Costume Design and Makeup.
