I wonder which critic will be the first to say “it will melt your heart” after the film releases (possibly even before)?

Frozen, trailer #2, posters #2-9

Plot Summary: From IMDb: “Fearless optimist Anna teams up with Kristoff in an epic journey, encountering Everest-like conditions, and a hilarious snowman named Olaf in a race to find Anna’s sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom in eternal winter.”
Release Date: November 27, 2013

Rating: F / C / C+ / C / C (4)
Commentary: I’m dumping several images together in this review (all but the first) as there isn’t much variance between them. The second poster is a clear rip-off of the Scrat shorts from the Ice Age franchise, which makes it a rather pathetic design even if attempting to be tongue-in-cheek. The next few designs are all fairly simplistic without the bounteous imagery that typically accompanies an animated feature poster design. That’s refreshing and also bland. The character posters aren’t even that clever. (See all the reviewed posters at the link below.
Rating: B
Commentary: We finally get a glimpse of the film’s plot, but not enough to know what the villain’s motivations are or what the heroes really hope to accomplish other than stop it from being frozen. There are a few interesting bits of humor glossed over in the design and this trailer should go a long way towards putting kiddies in the seats, but I’m still not sure where the Disney excellence comes in.
