The Boston online film critics group selected their winners for 2019 and announced very early with a press release this morning. At the top of the list was Parasite, securing Best Picture, Director, and Foreign Language Film awards. Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood was not to be outdone with three as well giving prizes to Brad Pitt in Supporting Actor alongside the film’s screenplay and its cinematography. Uncut Gems continues to do modestly well with critics. Whether they genuinely believe Adam Sandler is best or if they are trying to make an Oscar nomination happen is hard to know, but his shaky ground is still shaky even with all the prizes thanks to the years of comedians winning prizes and coming up short with the Academy.
