The Florida Film Critics Circle has made some audacious choices. While some of the films we’ve seen a lot of this season (1917, Marriage Story, and The Irishman) did well, so too did several films that haven’t gotten as much attention as this group gives them (Ad Astra, The Farewell, and Portrait of a Lady on Fire). It’s nice to see some variety in precursor season even if it isn’t terribly instructive.
