Review: As much as this looks like Brendan Fraser and tells some element of his story, there’s nothing going on in the design which makes its inertia exert itself over the passer-by.

Trailer Rating: C / B

Review: (#1) In spite of the acclaim the film has already received, the trailer makes the film look incredibly dull and lacking in weight. There’s little here to recommend to the casual viewer and even fans of Darren Aronofsky’s and cinema in general won’t see much here to excite them.

(#2) Unlike the first trailer, this one actually tells the viewer what the film’s about and thereby makes the subject matter far more appealing. Brendan Fraser’s performance certainly seems more electric here, which might bolster some attention on the film.

Oscar Prospects:

Aronofsky’s latest film is at least likely to be nominated for Best Actor for Brendan Fraser if nothing else.
