Review: One of the biggest gripes I have about the trailer is how “perfect” the images are, glossy and unworn. This tries to counteract that feeling with a horn that’s marked and gashed. However, the rest of the face and the figure sin front of it all look too perfect.

Trailer Rating: B-

Review: As much as we gripe about Disney and Pixar creating a “product” rather than a movie, this trailer very much looks to establish Netflix as doing the same thing. The creative energy never bursts from the screen and while there are occasional bits of clever humor, the end result lacks energy and enticement. That all the images look calculated and glossy suggests a dull experience.

Oscar Prospects:

Netflix has done well at scoring Oscar nominations for Animated Feature, so this one is likely to get in.
