Review: (#1) Starting off with the familiar theme music and introduction, then shifting to a color landscape with the characters presented matter of factly doesn’t make the teaser look very appealing.

(#2) Rob Zombie hasn’t really made a parody before and he’s certainly not intentionally made a cult classic. This trailer looks like he’s pushing hard to turn this into one of those cheesy movies that get taken down on shows like Mystery Science Theater 3000 and that obviousness makes the entirety feel cheap. The Munsters may not have been great television, but it was an earnest comedy while this appears to be as disingenuous as you can get.

(#3) After a month’s hiatus, we’ve been getting successive trailer releases and none of them make the film look better. If anything, they make it look worse. The fun of the original Munsters TV series was perfectly suited to the sitcom format. This film doesn’t quite know how to translate that into a big screen feature with the end result looking shittily cheesy.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
