Review: (#1) The fake background is too obvious, though the foreground images at least tell enough of the story as to match the premise of the film.

(#2) The selection of images for this design don’t work. While Jenny Slate’s expression seems fitting, Charlie Day’s does not, which makes it feel like they are each seeing something entirely different and that really doesn’t work.

Trailer Rating: B- / B

Review: (#1) If it weren’t for Jenny Slate and Charlie Day, this trailer would look like a cheap indie comedy with no sense of style or patience. With them in it, the neurotic nature of the material comes through with a wholesomely quirky quality.

(#2) The first trailer was too lengthy and insisted on giving more information than the viewer needed to know. This second one tries to walk much of that back and the end result is a film that looks a little more interesting.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
