Poster Rating: C-

Review: The title mixed with orange jump suits does not an enticing poster make. The poster lacks any interesting or diversive elements and even the looks on the leads’ faces is campy and even “campy” isn’t a good word to use. Crummy is probably better.

Trailer Rating: B-

Review: Despite never having seen the original, the promise of the teaser is high, but I’m not going to hold out hope for a comedy of this kind. The concept of two friends, one Korean and one Indian, being mistaken for terrorists has a certain anti-government bent that may appeal to those who are disillusioned by war with Iraq and the label of “terrorist” that’s being applied by every xenophobe when necessary. However, I’m dubious at how much impact it can really have.

Oscar Prospects:

The Academy doesn’t recognize these types of films, even in the screenplay category where the more satirical Borat managed to sneak into the race.
