Review: (#1) Being Patriotic doesn’t necessarily make the film more appealing, even if it is set in World War II. (#2) More details doesn’t necessarily make a better poster and this is pretty uninspired for a war movie design. Sure, it gets the point across, but inelegantly.

Trailer Rating: B-

Review: This World War II submarine film can sell based solely on Tom Hanks’ presence, but it does very little to stoke enthusiasm in anyone not interested in war films.

Oscar Prospects:

It’s been a long time since a war movie about submarines was an Oscar contender, but this has a lot of potential, but most of it’s in the creative categories.
