Review: I can’t say the film looks awful, but it certainly doesn’t inspire courage in someone who had put it as the film to beat when his first predictions came out in May. If the film is like the trailer, I don’t see it being any good, but if it manages to live up to the potential that I can barely see peeping out from behind the preview, it might be good.

Oscar Prospects:

Oscar will be quite unkind to this film, much like the remake of All the King’s Men if it’s not good. Mike Nichols has an awesome TV background and some good feature films under his belt, but he’s really got to deliver for it to be taken seriously by Oscar voters at this point.
