Review: (#1) It’s creepy, colorless, and not creative.

(#2) It looks like a simple play date and there are elements to the design that suggest something more, but they are ill-defined. (#3) It might have more impact knowing what’s going on in the film, but its overly simplistic style doesn’t excite.

Trailer Rating: B- / C

Review: (#1) One supposes that these trailers are designed primarily to appeal to fans of the original film. Those don’t number very many, so there is a certain responsibility to try to bring others into the fold and the trailer almost succeeds with its formulaic creepy aesthetic, but not quite.

(#2) Any creative nuance from the first trailer is throw out here with little to no impetus for non-fans of the original to check it out.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
