Review: (#1) Usually a hazy design is intended to represent memory, but when the only memory in the design is in the upper corner and the entire design, except for the lettering, is hazy, it sounds like an attempt at create something artistic, but an unexceptional one. (#2) Another attempt at something artistic with the edges having a slight water color feel, yet the internal images are also distressed, making the whole thing feel like another failed attempt at creativity. (#3) When you can make Mickey Rooney look like a Val Kilmer, clearly your attempt to doctor a poster design was unsuccessful. That the rest of the poster is a single still image doesn’t make the inset pop, it just makes it glaring. (#4) While the decision not to go for something exceedingly artful is laudatory, the end result just feels dull since it’s still just a still image.

Trailer Rating: C-

Review: Mickey Rourke has been trying to resurrect his stalled acting career that was supposed to get a big boost from The Wrestler, which ultimately came crashing down again after Iron Man 2 and this film doesn’t look to do him any favors.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
