The Friday Face-Off, Winners Bracket, Round 7 #1

Rather than leave another week without some polls, I thought I’d also save us some time. Last week’s polls were essentially the last in every category except the music categories. So this week, we’ll play a little bet hedging. Without knowing which of last week’s two face-offs will be the final two, I’m going to put out four polls, one with each potential face-off. Next week, we’ll take another break, and then the following week, with all of the polls getting at least two weeks’ worth of votes, we will reveal all of the final winners that we’ve been working on.

After that, I’m not sure what to do next. I like the idea of the face-offs, but starting over to cover the last few years that weren’t included would be rather dull. However, I’ve thought we could possibly do face-offs for each winner versus every other winner. For example, Best Picture winner Wings would face-off against each of the other 93 Best Picture winners. Based on the number of films each of the titles beat, we’ll be able to put together a formal ranking of every Best Picture winner ever. Could even do it for other categories, but we’ll start off with Best Picture and see how it goes.
