The last of the Fox Searchlight screeners arrived today. And I have heard rumor (others in my organization having gotten them) that we have a Disney package incoming. Good times.

Hitchcock

Stars: Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren, Danny Huston, Michael Stuhlbarg, James D’Arcy, Scarlett Johansson, Toni Collette, Jessica Biel
Director: Sacha Gervasi
Premise: From IMDb: “A love story between influential filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock and wife Alma Reville during the filming of Psycho (1960) in 1959.”
Oscar Chances: Average: Apart from what’s expected to be another nomination for Helen Mirren, the dull notices from critics may doom the film to only that. Anthony Hopkins faces and overly crowded Best Actor field while no one from the supporting cast seems to be getting the kinds of notices one would expect from a future Oscar nominee. The production design, costume design and makeup could also find themselves nominated, but the film just isn’t generating enough buzz to make it in other categories at this point.
