In a move that Producers Guild of America said was “in support of” the Academy’s decision to increase the number of Best Picture nominees to 10, the PGA has done the same. It isn’t hard to see what is really happening. The PGA wants to continue its streak of strong predictive capabilities and jump on the bandwagon. It’s not a surprising move and a lot of groups may follow suit.

The Online Film & Television Academy will not be increasing its nominations to 10, but will announce the five films with the highest vote totals that were NOT nominated, revealing an unordered Top 10 from the organization.
