The nominations for the ASC awards have been announced. The nominees are below:

Predictions Comparison

Once again our shared predictions were correct. The Hurt Locker and Inglourious Basterds both earned nominations. The two films that ended up on three contributors’ lists also ended up with nominations: Avatar (Wesley, Peter, Tripp) and Nine (Wesley, Tripp, Wes). The remaining nominee, The White Ribbon, didn’t figure into any of our predictions. The full results are below:

Awww… I was *this* close to predicting “The White Ribbon,” but wasn’t sure that it was eligible and left it off in favor of “Public Enemies.” I’ve had it in my Oscar predictions for over a month.

Also, I honestly didn’t see them nominating a movie that was 85% computer animated for a cinematography award. “Bright Star” will replace “Avatar” at the Oscars.
