   While I have enjoyed most of the favorites that I have seen, not a one has really blown me away. I don’t know if it will happen this year, but finally this coming weekend my area will get: Nebraska, Her, Inside Llewyn Davis and August: Osage County. I’ll have a busy week, and I’m hoping for some magic.

   I really don’t understand the love for Captain Phillips. The second half was way too drawn out. If I’m writing a screenplay, I lengthen the first half to about the 70% mark. After all, you know the ending already. I just thought the second half dragged.

   The most likely Oscar nominees as well although Alexander Payne could knock off Scorsese.

         I agree. Scorsese’s fetishes got the best of him; it’s one of his least successful works. Jonze, Payne, Coogler, and the Coen brothers would have been better choices.
