.Guillermo del Toro โ€“ The highest honor for a career that has exemplified Latino excellence, Guillermo del Toro has been a tireless advocate of cinema in all its beautiful forms. Never tied to a single genre, heโ€™s made an indelible impression in Hollywood with various ambitious endeavors such as โ€œCronosโ€ (1992), โ€œMimicโ€ (1997), โ€œThe Devilโ€™s Backboneโ€ (2001), โ€œHellboy II: The Golden Armyโ€ (2008), โ€œPacific Rimโ€ (2013) and โ€œCrimsonโ€™s Peakโ€ (2015). A multi-nominated and winning Oscar recipient, his most recognized contributions have been โ€œPanโ€™s Labyrinthโ€ (2006), โ€œThe Shape of Waterโ€ (2017), โ€œNightmare Alleyโ€ (2021), and โ€œGuillermo del Toroโ€™s Pinocchioโ€ (2022), for which he is nominated for nine awards including best picture and director. Heโ€™s the first director of an animated feature to be nominated by the organization. The Latino Entertainment Journalists Association salutes the Mexican auteur and looks forward to more stunning work throughout his lifetime.
