With only Kansas City and National Society of Film Critics left to announce, the majority of the elder statesmen of film critics groups have announced their winners with an even split between Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite, which won here and at Los Angeles, and Martin Scorsese’s slowly fading The Irishman taking the National Board of Review and the New York Film Critics Circle. While there aren’t any non-mainstream selections here, Chicago continues to confirm the existing narrative.
