If you ever see a date listed for the Satellite Awards, ignore it. They tend to do whatever they want, including announcing winners long before schedule (their ceremony is Feb. 22, but they announced these on Jan. 3) and announcing nominations on a whim. It’s a rather unprofessional way to run an organization. Just as suspect are their winners, which rarely have an impact on predictions or an influence on winners. Here are their selections. While I can respect some of their choices, they came out with nominations so early that they managed to ignore most of the major contenders, including Spider-Man: into the Spider-Verse, which makes them look particularly out of touch.
