Yorgos Lanthimos’ period comedy is shaping up to be the year’s Favourite film with the mentions here combined with the massive support it has received across the early nominations voting. Everything here is largely following a pattern that is developing, though is taking time to fully materialize, but the same films are racking up a lot of the same nominations across the board, so by the middle of the week or early next week, a fairly easy revision of predictions would be in order. Shout out to Cynthia Erivo for her surprise nomination for a strong performance in Bad Times at the El Royale and a deserved nomination for original score to Suspiria.
