The African American Film Critics Association has chosen Black Panther as the Best Film of the year, beating out If Beale Street Could Talk based on their top ten of the year. Most interesting, BlacKkKlansman, which received two awards for writing and lead actor, didn’t make the top ten selections. There isn’t a lot of predictive value to this group’s selection, though a lot of their choices are already Oscar contenders, which is a wonderful thing.
