- In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, ballerina Sarah Lane claimed that as Natalie Portman’s body double for her Oscar-winning role in Black Swan, she performed “95%” of her dancing sequences. Director Darren Aronofsky rebutted, saying that he and his editor looked at the film and Lane is only about 25% of the shots.
- James Franco appeared on Friday night’s Late Show with David Letterman, and came out pretty honestly about what he perceived as a failed hosting attempt. Letterman, of course, likes to make jokes about his less than stellar hosting of the 1994 Oscars.
- This year’s Best Director, Tom Hooper, announced that his next project will be the long awaited film adaptation of the Broadway musical Les Miserables.
Review Round-Up
- The reigning Best Foreign Language Film, In a Better World, finally opened in the States this weekend. With a positive Metacritic rating of 65, critics are calling the film a strong mixture of intimate drama and political message.

- Jane Eyre continued its strong run in limited release, taking in just under $1 million last weekend.
