They aren’t precursors, but they are amusing annual tradition since 1980. The Golden Raspberry Awards, known as the Razzies, are a fun glimpse into the minds of the irreverant. While they’ve rarely dug into big, important movies, they do highlight some of the worst missteps that appear each year, which includes both After Earth and The Lone Ranger, two of the most nominated of the year, but the rest of the selections are fairly typical for this group. They have no impact on the Academy Awards, so enjoy the brief diversion before the Oscar nominations tomorrow morning.
