A solid debut for The Nun II is sure to be short-lived as horror films are often front-loaded. That leaves plenty of room for A Haunting in Venice to take the top spot at the box office.

A Haunting in Venice
Wesley Lovell: I honestly don’t care for how Kenneth Branagh has handled the Hercule Poirot character in his prior two outings and turning one of my favorite Christie novels into a paranormal activity film doesn’t seem that enticing.
Peter J. Patrick: Branagh’s first Agatha Christie adaptation that is not something that has been done before on the big screen could actually be good.

The Limited Slate
Wesley Lovell: A couple of films look like they might be interesting, but the rest isn’t.
Peter J. Patrick: The Inventor looks like a thinking man’s cartoon. The rest look fairly excruciating.
