Another disappointing box office week might be in the offing. Bad Boys: Ride or Die is the first major franchise release for Will Smith after hitting host Chris Rock at the Oscars. Can his career be resuscitated or will The Watchers top it? We shall see.

OTHER RELEASES

We are only looking at films that have had trailers released on Rotten Tomatoes’ trailer YouTube Channels. Below are some other films that are releasing this weekend that we haven’t considered.

The Girl Who Wore Freedom (Limited)
Life After Fighting (Limited)
Rode College (Limited)
Trim Season (Limited)

WIDE RELEASES

BAD BOYS: RIDE OR DIE

THE WATCHERS

Bad Boys: Ride or Die

Wesley Lovell: I haven’t seen a single one of these films nor do I have any interest in seeing them.

Peter J. Patrick: Looks like one of those action films you’ll watch if there’s nothing else available.

Thomas La Tourrette: I have not seen any of the films in this series so it does not appeal, and Will Smith still does not appeal.

The Watchers

Wesley Lovell: The Shyamalan name isn’t a good one but daughter may be unlike father and this might be better than expected.

Peter J. Patrick: Low-key horror film set in Ireland could be a breakthrough for M. Night Shyamalan’s daughter.

Thomas La Tourrette: The trailer starts out well enough, but I was tired of the conceit by the end. And that is without knowing what the twist will be.

LIMITED RELEASES

BANEL AND ADAMA

I USED TO BE FUNNY

LATE BLOOMERS

LONGING

SCHOOL OF MAGICAL ANIMALS 2

SOMEDAY WE’LL TELL EACH OTHER EVERYTHING

The Limited Slate

Wesley Lovell: Another week of generally bland-looking releases.

Peter J. Patrick: Nothing I would run out to see.

Thomas La Tourrette: None of these look truly bad, except for School for Magical Animals 2, but none look that interesting either. Maybe one or two might be worth catching on a streaming service, but I would not go out of my way to see any of them.
