Can Horizon: An American Saga draw audiences to the theaters for the first major western in quite some time? Kevin Costner rode the popularity of Yellowstone into this film and if he can draw those audiences to the theater, it can be a success. That said, will anyone want to go to see part one of a four-part saga on the big screen? It isn’t the MCU but it could bring a dedicated group to cinemas who might. Regardless, it will be interesting to see if it can overcome a strong third week from Inside Out 2 for the top spot.

WIDE RELEASES

HORIZON: AN AMERICAN SAGA

A QUIET PLACE: DAY ONE

Horizon: An American Saga

Wesley Lovell: I’m not the biggest fan of westerns, especially not ones that are broken into multiple parts to make a quick buck.

Peter J. Patrick: The first part of a planned four-part series of films looks intriguing.

Thomas La Tourrette: Some pundits made this sound like a great new western, but the reviews and the trailer do not make it seem that exciting, especially not four parts of it.

A Quiet Place: Day One

Wesley Lovell: I loved the first film but didn’t get a chance to see the prequel. This is a prequel to that prequel and apart from being in a universe I love, there’s not a lot on offer here for me.

Peter J. Patrick: Seems like an unnecessary prequel to the popular horror series but might prove interesting.

Thomas La Tourrette: I will see it, but am wondering how many different times they can go back to the start of the invasion.

LIMITED RELEASES

CHRONICLES OF A WANDERING SAINT

DADDIO

THE IMAGINARY

A SACRIFICE

The Limited Slate

Wesley Lovell: A lackluster week of options.

Peter J. Patrick: The anime looks like the best bet here.

Thomas La Tourrette: Chronicles of a Wandering Saint sounds the most interesting, but the trailer did not sell it well. The others might be okay but none really stand out.
