With several duds running, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part 1 will either buck the trend or face a similar defeat. It has strong reviews going in, so the likelihood of a summer hit is high.

Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning – Part One

Wesley Lovell: The Mission: Impossible franchise has been rather consistently entertaining, so I’m definitely interested.

Peter J. Patrick: I think I’ll wait for Part II and watch them back-to-back.

Thomas La Tourrette: The series has been entertaining and critics are raving about this one, so it feels like one summer blockbuster to see.

Psycho-Pass: Providence

Wesley Lovell: Even for anime this looks even less interesting.

Peter J. Patrick: I have no interest in watching the sequel to something I’ve never seen.

Thomas La Tourrette: It looks like a typical anime film and I cannot imagine any reason to go to it.

The Limited Slate

Wesley Lovell: Not much stands out to me this week, though Afire, The Miracle Club, and Theater Camp have the most potential.

Peter J. Patrick: I will definitely be seeing The Miracle Club for that cast. Of the others, only Afire strikes me as something I might want to see.

Thomas La Tourrette: Truthfully only Theater Camp and The Miracle Club seem like possibilities to see, and both of those look pretty trite. Final Cut might prove funny but I’m very dubious. The others just don’t look that good.
