Wonka seems to be on a roll and I don’t see Night Swim being able to topple it even as the only new release.

Night Swim
Wesley Lovell: There’s not really much here to be excited about.
Peter J. Patrick: The first dumb horror film of the new year – no thank-you.
Thomas La Tourrette: I am not into horror films anyway, and this trailer did not make me want to see this film.

The Limited Slate
Wesley Lovell: Not a lot to choose from this week with the queer-tinged serial killer film the most promising.
Peter J. Patrick: Nothing here for me at all this week.
Thomas La Tourrette: Of these three thrillers, only He Went That Way is a slim possibility to see and I am not sure if it is one I want to see at all. It mostly feels distasteful, but there are a couple scenes in the trailer that pique a little bit of interest. The Bricklayer looks hackneyed and Mayhem! comes across as violent and nothing more.
