Looking at the Weekend: Feb. 4-6, 2022

The first set of new wide releases in what seems like forever, but there isn’t much to see here as they aren’t titles that are likely to ignite interest in the box office, though Jackass Forever is sure to pull plenty of people who don’t care about the pandemic to theater, so it might come out on top.

Thomas LaTourette (TL): This looks as stupid as it is trying to be. Probably only for people who are already fans.

Thomas LaTourette (TL): This comes across as more silly than anything else. The trailer gives little idea of what horrors lurk or why we should even care.

Thomas LaTourette (TL): For the second week in a row, Alicia Silverstone has a film out. While this has a better premise, I am not sure how good it will be.

	Wesley Lovell (WL): It’s a well regarded film, which makes it of interest, but it still feels a bit hollow. Peter J. Patrick (PP): Norway’s submission for Best International Feature looks like it could be one of the more interesting romantic comedies around. Thomas LaTourette (TL): The fact that the critics love it and that it’s been shortlisted for the Oscars would make it seem like a sure fire hit, but the trailer does not make one care much for the lead nor really sell the movie at all.
