Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): It’s an interesting enough concept that it might be worth checking out in spite of a clunky trailer.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Interesting premise, iffy execution in thriller about junkies and gangsters.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): It is a very topical subject about drug treatment centers profiting off of patients, but I just found the trailer off-putting and it just did not make me want to see it.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): These “charming” British comedy films just don’t hold a lot of interest for me.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Intergenerational British comedy might be a bit too droll for most tastes.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): It looks like a sweet if slight British comedy about a mother and son reconnecting over a difficult summer.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): The trailer was a mess and that doesn’t make the film look very interesting.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Film Independent nominee about a domestic murder looks awfully unappealing.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): The characters are not appealing and the trailer, with major hints of violence, seems very different than the description of the film.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): Although mob films are old hat by now, a film about Canadian mafia might be interesting.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): French-Canadian gangster film looks stylish but doesn’t appear to offer anything new.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): Aside from this being about the Canadian mafia, it looked no different than any other mafia film, which for me is not a thrill.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): The trailer isn’t terribly compelling, but it might be better than it looks.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Inclusion of the dark web may be new but otherwise looks like a standard cops and robbers flick.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): The rise and perhaps downfall of Silk Road, a dark website for drug transactions, should make for a gripping film. The trailer is decent, but does not grab the viewer as strongly as it should.
