The mother of all sequels releases and it will try mightily to become the year’s biggest hit and top its predecessor. With Black Panther: Wakanda Forever now having spent five weeks at number one, it will fade to #2 for awhile, but may stay there quite some time as well.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): The first film was good but didn’t really need a sequel. We’ll see where this one goes.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): I was not a fan of the original, doubt that I will like any of the sequels.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): The original was beautiful to look at, but boasted a cliched screenplay. I do not know if this will improve on the original, but it should pull a few nominations.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): Rebel Wilson is a surprisingly good actress, so this could be better than it looks.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Looks like a quaint albeit interesting drama about the aftermath of brain injury.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): It looks like a thoughtful movie though the trailer slightly confused me. The title doesn’t help.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): It’s hard to tell whether this will be good or mediocre.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Looks like a quaint albeit interesting drama about the aftermath of brain injury.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): The title seemingly bears no resemblance to the plot of this thriller and it looks like a good cast is wasted in a dull film.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): Looks all too familiar. Not really interested in a reheated horror.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Unappealing horror film about a baby in danger is not my cup of tea.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): It looks like a standard issue horror film.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): The trailer doesn’t do a very goo job of selling the film, but it looks like a lovely youth performance.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Understated, deliberately paced film about a girl in foster care should find its audience.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): The critics love it, but what they love is sorely missing from the trailer which is rather slow and dull.
