With Alien: Romulus putting up just over $40 million in its opening weekend, next week’s champ is likely to be one of the week’s two wide releases: Blink Twice or The Crow. Both are either horror or horror-adjacent so their have limited potential. Blink Twice features Channing Tatum in an unexpected role while The Crow has cachet. Ultimately, Blink Twice has the higher potential and I suspect it to eke out a win.

Blink Twice
Wesley Lovell: While it would be nice to see Channing Tatum playing against type, this looks like a cross between Get Out, Midsommar, and Glass Onion and I’m not sure that sounds that good.
Peter J. Patrick: I love a good mystery, but this doesn’t look like one.
Thomas La Tourrette: Might be interesting or might just be more of the same old horror, but it is interesting to see a different side of Channing Tatum.
The Crow
Wesley Lovell: I never had an interest in the original film so there’s even less interest in its “remake.”
Peter J. Patrick: Another unnecessary remake.
Thomas La Tourrette: It looks way too violent and unpleasant for my tastes.

The Limited Slate
Wesley Lovell: The Supremes has such an impressive cast that it could be quite good. Beyond that, I like the cast of Greedy People as well but film itself doesn’t look that good.
Peter J. Patrick: Lots of maybes but only The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat which streams on Hulu is one I’m likely to see anytime soon.
Thomas La Tourrette: The Supremes, Close Your Eyes, and Between the Temples look the most interesting, but right now none of them feels like a must see.
