With several wide releases this week, finding the cream will be difficult. However, the two most likely box office champions are The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare and Abigail. Both are essentially derivative but Ungentlemanly seems like it has the better shot t at the top spot.

Wesley Lovell: It could be a bit fun but runs the risk of being derivative.

Peter J. Patrick: It takes a lot for me to give thumbs up to a modern horror film.

Thomas La Tourrette: Slightly interesting premise, but vampire flicks are still not my thing.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare

Wesley Lovell: A good war comedy is worth checking out but I’m not certain this will be one.

Peter J. Patrick: It’s gotten decent early reviews, but Guy Ritchie is not my favortie director.

Thomas La Tourrette: It might prove okay, but it looks too over the top like many Guy Ritchie productions.

Spy x Family Code: White

Wesley Lovell: Not interested.

Peter J. Patrick: Looks cute.

Thomas La Tourrette: This looks like a bad anime film. The trailer made no case for seeing this film.

The Limited Slate

Wesley Lovell: None of these strike my fancy.

Peter J. Patrick: Only festival hit We Grown Now is a must-see, but the others look decent enough.

Thomas La Tourrette: None of these look that exciting and unless the reviews are ecstatic I doubt I’ll be seeing any of them.
