Although the Emmys are not the Oscars, they are one of the oldest awards-giving bodies out there and many an Oscar winner has graced the Emmy stage.

Today, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced its nominations for the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Leading the pack was HBO’s miniseries The Pacific which earned 24 nominations followed closely by freshman comedy series Glee with 19 nominations (3 shy of 30 Rock‘s one-season record) and Mad Men with 17 nominations.
