Last Week’s Results

As expected, Star Trek: Into Darkness had little trouble claiming the top spot, but its numbers were just slightly under the 2009 predecessor, which opened to series-best numbers. Based on the perceived affection for the first film, higher numbers were expected, but not achieved. The film will end up south of its predecessor, especially adjusted for inflation and if it ends up below $200 million, it would rank 5th on the all-time top franchise performers.
