Last Week’s Results

Taking a page from The Help‘s book on how to release in late Summer and make a killing, Lee Daniels’ The Butler opens to just shy of $25 million, handily beating its nearest competitor, holdover We’re the Millers. The week’s other three releases did considerably poorly with Kick-Ass 2 barely cracking the Top 5 with a dismal $13.3 million while Jobs fared did about half that with $6.7 million followed by Paranoia, which didn’t even make the Top 10.
