Review: (#1) An uninspired backdrop with actors who don’t look like they are having much fun. (#2) Similar to the prior with an even less impressive background.

(#3-#10) These character posters take the title as background concept to a mediocre degree. While changing around the colors for each design, and the poses, they all feel tacky and unfulfilled.

Trailer Rating: B / B

Review: (#1) Memories of the 2009 original are successfully conjured in this modestly humorous trailer that goes to great lengths to highlight its four Oscar nominees (one also a winner) when the first film only had two nominees (Woody Harrelson and Abigail Breslin). The trailer starts off a bit slowly and builds in terms of interest and humor by the end.

(#2) While some of the joy of discovery of the first trailer is gone, there’s still sufficient fun to be had in the second, but not for everyone. The clever bit is where it highlights the Oscar-caliber of its cast, which is a fascinating way to advertising a B movie, at least for film enthusiasts.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
