Review: (#1) The attempt at simplicity backfires as the color scheme is lifeless, the background is futile and plain and the damaged hands and face look fake.

(#2) The shattered glass aesthetic has been overused and the selection of image doesn’t quite work. There are hints of inspiration in some of the broken shards, but they aren’t prominent enough to be as interesting as they should be.

Trailer Rating: B / B-

Review: (#1) You normally expect something a bit more energetic for a film that’s made by Guy Ritchie. The trailer does try to make the action seem interesting and marginally succeeds, but the lifeless husk that is Jason Statham mutes nearly every attempt at excitement.

(#2) This red band trailer certainly has more violence in it, which makes it more interesting to certain potential viewers and the narrative is given something of a workout, but it’s so poorly cobbled together that your brain has to work a bit of overtime to get there.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
