Review: There’s no need to tease the audience when you have Tyler Perry’s name attached! Right? Wrong answer.

Trailer Rating: C; B-

Review: How many times must we hear Perry’s name? Not only did the voice-over announce the full title of the film
with his name attached, they had to include him in the cast read-off AND announce he was the writer and director. Who in the world doesn’t already know this vainglorious Perry acts, writes and directs all his films? As for the preview? It looks just like every other relationship-centered film he or anyone has ever done. Nothing particularly new or inventive.

In probably one of the biggest turn arounds of the year, a new trailer for Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married? makes the film actually look palatable. The interpersonal dynamic is emphasized and the other characters are given a chance to express in the trailer why they are part of a the film.

Oscar Prospects:

Perry will win an Oscar the same year Barney the Dinosaur wins one.
