Review: (#1) The two ancient ships from the trailer give depth to the background, but the actors in the fore are recognizable, but dully arranged.
(#2) Getting all of the actors together is important, but the backdrop is forced and the lower image uninspired. (#3) One of the pivotal scenes from the trailer. It’s a decent sale tool, but feels like a cheat. (#4) A hand-drawn version is an interesting choice for IMAX and there are some interesting tidbits in the background, but it isn’t entirely special. (#5-#6) These two character posters don’t work because while some of the images are from the film itself, the rest seems to be poorly implemented or blended to create some action that isn’t particularly crafty.

Review: (#1) There’s sufficient action and establishing narrative elements, but the whole affair feels distinctly unexciting.
(#2) Filled to the brim with action and spectacle, this design is sure to please some adventure seekers, but everything feels overly familiar, reminding the viewer of countless prior action films, which doesn’t give the impression that this one is worth watching.
(#3) The producers really want this film to succeed, so they keep stuffing as much action and adventure in as they possibly can while also trying to infuse it with humor. Each new element revealed makes the case that the picture is going to be one attempt at a moment after another that ultimately string along together into almost nothing.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
