Review: (#1, C) Looking like an art piece painted by a master might have a nice aesthetic, but it doesn’t tell the viewer enough about the film to interest them. (#2, B-) The bland backdrop doesn’t distract too much from the beautiful image of a girl amongst the flora. It’s nice to look at, though perhaps a bit inconsequential. (#3, B-) That brown background is unappealing, the differences between the girl and the rest of her family is dimensionally challenged, which makes the effort solid, but visually unappealing. (#4, C) Setting the girl with a praying mantis in a jungle setting doesn’t tell the audience enough about the film.

Review: We understand that the men in the film are suffering somehow and that the women are having to be strong, but what is wrong with them and what the film is hoping to achieve are given insufficient attention.
Oscar Prospects:
While little was known about this film until recently, it’s already picked up a few precursor citations, so it’s clearly a Best International Feature contender.
