Review: (#1) I wish I could say this is stylistically audacious, but it’s not particularly brilliant or moving. It’s not viscerally engaging. It’s just simplistic and dull even with a swath of blood sprayed along the wall. (#2) Even less artistic and compelling than its predecessor, not even the most liberal definition of interesting could be used for this.

Trailer Rating: B

Review: What makes this trailer vibrant and sensational isn’t the visuals. It isn’t the promise of ultra-violence. It’s the ravishing rendition of “House of the Rising Sun,” sung over the bulk of the trailer. It adds a layer of depth that the trailer designers clearly understood even if the filmmakers don’t share the same vision.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
