Review: (#1) The artistic influence in this poster is evident, but the forgettable background makes it less interesting. (#2) Another painterly design with stark colors and a vast vista that doesn’t speak a lot to the film’s themes. (#3) This scene from the film is inexplicable without context. (#4) This is a mostly obvious, but otherwise interesting expression of the film’s narrative. (#5) This is a more literal, but also duller look at the film’s premise. (#6) While this must be a scene from the film, it’s an uninteresting one. (#7) The third painter-inspired design and this one is also somewhat interesting as parts of the color haven’t been filled in yet, meaning that this guy’s life is unfinished. Potent, though obvious. (#8) Another portrait styled design, but one that’s a bit more ambiguous, but not more interesting than past designs.

Review: If you’re familiar with Nuri Bilge Ceylan as a director, then this film and trailer should very much appeal to you. For anyone else, there’s just not enough substance here to sell them on it.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
