Review: (#1, C+) It almost looks real, which might be too its detriment since the audience needs to know it’s an actual animated film rather than a hand-drawn poster.
Trailer Rating: B

Review: (#1, B) It’s gorgeously painted and that’s where most of the film’s intrigue comes from. The narrative about a young woman being forced to marry someone she’s not in love with is certainly old hat, but seeing it in a new medium is enticing.
Oscar Prospects:
While it looks like the kind of painterly film the animators go for, it’s gotten almost no chatter this year. It didn’t make the cut for Best International Feature, but was on the list of candidates for Best Animated Feature. It just doesn’t look like it’s on deck for anything.
