Review: (#1, B) While not having a pleasing backdrop can be an issue, with this type of symbology it works. The lovely coat of arms is striking and original, which should make the viewer intrigued by what the film is about. (#2, C) From loveliness to staid design work, this poster shows a scene from the film and while it almost looks real, there’s also a hollowness to it. (#3, C) Another scene from the film but this one speaks more to the relationship between the characters than the prior design, which makes this feel more like an interpersonal drama but certainly not one that seems very interesting.
Trailer Rating: B

Review: (#1, B) Ken Loach’s films always speak to the toils of the common man but the trailers struggle to make them seem more intriguing. This one does quite well in that regard, making the narrative feel crucial in its approach to anti-immigrant rhetoric. While it will still mostly appeal to fans of the director’s work, it should also make inroads to non-fans as well.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
