Review: (#1-#12) It’s really hard to find a design balance that’s both creative and compelling. These posters range from creative and not-compelling to modestly compelling but modestly creative. The variance between them is inconsequential.

Review: (#1) Before the film was yanked from the production schedule, this first trailer was released. It was a charming, gorgeously animated delight that suggested a film that could easily be one of the year’s best. (#2) Then they pulled the film for awhile and Netflix picked up for distribution releasing this second trailer. Either the magic from the first trailer is muted when seeing a new cut of it or the producers have tried so hard to focus the film on the animation over the premise that it seems duller by comparison.

Oscar Prospects:

It’s going to be a tough year in the Animated Feature category and this is one of those major contenders.
