Poster Rating: B-

Review: There’s plenty to look at, but very little that’s substantive. It’s apparent form this poster that the makers want to encourage fans of 300 to the theater. With the centurion at the front of the poster and images of battle in the back, I’m sure there will be some interest in the teenage boy market, but that’s probably all they’ll get from this one.

Trailer Rating: B-

Review: While the potential for a pre-Arthurian tale is high, I can’t help but remember how disappointing King Arthur was. This looks a great deal like that film. It looks pretty, but what’s presented in the trailer is a bit vacuous.

Oscar Prospects:

If it’s big at the box office and critics support it, it could be a big contender for tech categories (Art Direction, Costume Design and Makeup). However, it’s the kind of movie that will fare better with guild awards than with the Academy.
